A birthday and a new school all in the same week!

Hannah has had quite an exciting week!! On Saturday (the 12th) she turned TWO Years Old!! Where in the world have the past 2 years gone?! She is growing up to be such a sweet little girl with lots of very cute things to say and do :-)

We got to spend Hannah's birthday in Lake Jackson at Mymom and Pawpaw's house!! Hannah sat at the table with us like a big girl ;-)

Nana and Babu were there for Hannah's special birthday supper too!

And Hannah knew exactly what to do with the presents-- she put on quite a show opening them!

Mymom gave Hannah a very special book that had a recording of her reading it! Hannah was facinated to hear a familiar voice coming from inside the book!

And Hannah's favorite part of all-- her awesome Cupcake 2 cake!! So neat!

 Hannnah LOVED playing in the backyard at Mymom and Pawpaw's House! Daddy taught Hannah to "ready, set, RUN, RUN, RUN!" So cute!

 They also spent a lot of time throwing rocks and sticks into the creek!

 We tried to get a good family photo with this two year old and baby number two...

 and of course my little model did what she does best, lol! What a drama queen!

She liked playing in the children's area... 

 ...and so did her daddy, lol!

All that fun wore her out :-)

 What a special Birthday Weekend! And the celebrating isn't even over-- we get to have another birthday party with Aunt Emmy, Aunt Laura, and Aunt Ashley at Thanksgiving!! Yay for spreading out the birthday fun :-)

 And today was another big day!! Hannah had her first day of "school" at First Christian Church Day School. She is going to go Monday and Friday mornings now! 

All ready to go with her backpack on! So cute! When Andrew dropped Hannah off, the kids were playing on the playground. She was so excited to check it out, she didn't even turn around to say goodbye! She came home with a beautiful picture that she colored, and a very good "daily report"! Hopefully Friday will go just as smoothly!

In case you missed it on Facebook, we had a pretty exciting day today! Hannah made a special announcement after she saw the sonogram at the drs office today. Here it is:

Football, Fall, and Fingerpaint

Ok, here's the post you're all really looking for-- the one that has anything to do with Hannah ;-) (It's ok, I won't get offended if you aren't excited to hear about my home improvement projects-- she is a lot more exciting after all, I have to admit, lol!)
Well, it's definitely college football season! We finally found an Alabama Tshirt that fits Hannah (she hasn't been able to represent since she was in 3-6mo onesies) so of course we captured some of the cuteness for you all to enjoy :-)

 

 

The other night, Andrew had the brilliant idea to put Hannah inside the linen closet in the bathroom to (jokingly) "punish" her when she told him she didn't want to brush her teeth. Well, his plan definitely fell through because she thought it was the funniest thing ever, and didn't want to get out!! (but as you'll see from the pictures, she did brush her teeth, lol!) She played peek-a-boo many times!

Thankfully, with this weekend's rain, the weather has cooled down quite a bit, so it's beginning to feel more like fall!! Of course it's nothing like the NE fall's we've had the past few years, but 75-80 degree weather is enough of a change to make me feel like some fall crafting is called for :-)

Hannah got to finger paint pumpkins (which, by the way is one of her favorite new words) and color pictures of a leaf and pumpkin. She had a blast, of course! I'm hoping to carve pumpkins in the next week or two, which I think she'll really enjoy too! :-)

 I left her drawing on the cardboard for a second to get scissors to cut out her handprint leaves, and when I came back, I found that she was making beautiful drawings-- ON HER LEGS!!! lol! Of course, rather than stop her, I grabbed the camera-- it was too cute to pass up (and besides, it washed right off in the bathtub later, along with the finger paint!)

HAPPY FALL, YALL! 

Lots of Projects!

Well, I finally believe that I'm in the second trimester. Until this past week, I still had no energy and frequently felt sick, but thank goodness it seems that has now all passed!! Sooo that means that its time to tackle all the projects I've been wanting to get done for the past 3 1/2 months!! (and Andrew groans... lol)
While Hannah was at Mom and Dad's we completed the massive project of unpacking all the rest of the boxes from the move, sorting and organizing the garage and attached room-- believe me, a HUGE accomplishment!  This weekend, we decided to go a little easier on ourselves ;-) Last week we found a table on Craigslist and planned to refinish and antique it. Here are some photos from the process:

So we stripped and sanded it down (well, at least Andrew did :-) 

Then, of course, we primed it

I tested out multiple options of colors and techniques to find
the perfect one for the look we wanted to get :-)

Then we painted the brown base coat

Finally, we painted a top coat of off-white. The plan was to let it dry, then lightly sand it to get the antiqued look. However, the weather apparently had other ideas for us on Sunday, lol! While we were at church, the table got rained on, so we are now letting it dry inside the house, and we haven't officially done the antiquing yet-- although I'm thinking the rain may have helped us out a little bit!

Next weekend's project: recovering the chairs!! I can't wait :-) Once it's all finished, I'll post "After" pictures :-)

Hannah's Maiden Voyage

Well, Hannah is about to head out on her first week-long "vacation" to Nana and Babu's house! I told her she needed to help me pack a suitcase full of all she'll need for her trip, and she proceeded to pack herself inside the bag, lol!

She's pretty excited about the trip (much to Mommy's dismay). She got her backpack and started walking. I guess she didn't catch on that Daddy was planning to drive her to meet Nana, and to see Mymom and Pawpaw!

I guess we are anticipating that Hannah will get some good spoiling this next week, so Andrew and I decided we'd spoil her a little first so it's not too much of a shock, lol!

 We took her to see The Lion King-- in 3D! We were a little early, so she also got to "play" in the arcade area with Daddy. And for an after dinner snack, chips and dip, of course! Lol! We had a very fun family Sunday! 

Happy Birthday, Babu!

Last weekend we got to spend some time in Belton/Killeen and celebrate my dad's birthday! It was a really neat time, as all of "his girls" were able to be there together-- something that hasn't happened for Daddy's birthday in a very long time!!

We all enjoyed the birthday meal at Cracker Barrell! Yum! (and GO TECH!) 

     

Another highlight of the weekend was Hannah's visit to "the Ranch"! She was excited to greet the goats and horses, and even got to ride on Babu's horse!!

As always-- CHEEEEESSSE!

We couldn't believe that she sat on the horse by herself and with so much confidence! She held on tight with her legs and her arms, sat up so straight and just rode all over the pasture! She was so serious about it, too! She knew exactly what she was supposed to do, what a big girl! 

She thought it was fun to wave at the goats, and yell, "Byeeeee" to daddy as she rode by! lol

Thanks for letting me ride your horsey, Babu! I love you!

Hannah also had fun with Nana!

 

Nana bought her a fun Halloween outfit, and played with her outside on the slide!              

The weekend definitely went by too quickly, but we were just thankful for lots of special moments together with family :-) <3
